Information on Septic Systems

Wastewater Treatment System Fact Sheets are available from many sources. The objective is to educate designers, installers, and homeowners on the issues related to designing, installing, operating and maintaining a septic system that works properly and is esthetically pleasing.

Most of the information is free if viewed on the web & a full color copy can be ordered for a nominal fee.

Take a look at the Texas Cooperative Extension's Onsite Wastewater Treatment & Reuse web site for fact sheets on several topics related to septic systems.

Information is also available from National Small Flows Clearinghouse  - an EPA supported information clearinghouse.

The University of Minnesota Extension has some excellent information in their Septic System Owner's Guide.
